Q & A

How long have you been engaged? I've been engaged for 3 months.

When did you know he was the one? On our first big vacation we were rooftop at a hotel in NYC and he said to me "Could you imagine being like our parents, not finding the one they love until they're lives are set, they all ready have kids and careers. Thats why I'm happy we met so young because we have the love of our life now, we can have all of that together."

What is it like when you told your parents? My mom was upset because she herself was engaged at the time. My best friends were surprised and happy. I think they gave me the support I needed. Apparently, high school and college friends and acquaintances thought I did it because I had been pregnant, but that is obviously not true.

Is it hard to be engage while at college? Well, I am starting fresh at a new university in the Fall. At orientation I could see students and parents gaze drag down to my ring. I try not to think about what ever it is they are thinking. One girl asked me "Are you engaged?" and I answered with a smile "Yes." She nodded with a nasty smirk on her face and started texting away.. CONGRATULATIONS! should have been her response but I'll have to face the facts that most college students don't have that type of etiquette.

How was planning the Engagement Party? What's important is that it turned out great & everyone had a great time. I did most of the planning, my fiance did the financing! The hardest part was that alot of my friends stayed on campus and didn't come. I had a real "You find out who your friends are" moment.

The hard part might be staying in school, but the easy part is when I get home and get to forget about my day and spend the night on cloud nine with my One and Only. <3

Here's My Room!

Here's My Room.

On top of the drawer: 5" x 5" Fashion box I found for 3 dollars in craft store. Its filled with tiny clear stones that came in a clear bag from Walmart.
 (It was near flower vases)

In The Drawer: The three containers aligned in the back were drawers in this http://www.walmart.com/ip/Sterilite-5-Drawer-Mini-Desktop-Organizer-White-Set-of-4/15442449#Specifications

There is a part on the bottom which is narrow, plastic and has three small compartments and one large one.

Get Organized!

Cord Organizer
I use this on the edge of my night stand. I share the two outlets with my boyfriend we each have our own lap top charger and phone charger. So, this is how we've come to organize them, prevents tangles and there's no scrambling on the floor for the right charger!

HAIR TIPS
Saturday a women came into my office with unbelievable hair when I asked her where she got it done, I couldn’t believe she said she did herself! :
Aquaphor
Here was her SECRET………AQUAPHOR!
Many of us use (were suppose to anyway) a serum to give hair a healthy shine BUT it could leave hair looking greasy.  Aquaphor is a product made for dry or cracked skin heres what you do with it
  • Take a TINY bit onto your index finger, about the size of a pea.
  • At first it will have a thick consistency, rub it on the pads of your fingers until it warms up.
  •  Apply it to your wet hair from eye level down to the ends. Avoiding roots and concentrating on the tips!
  • Blow dry and WaLA a beautiful shine that everyone will notice!
Message me, Let me know if you try it!

Blow Drying Tips

GIVE YOUR ARM A BREAK
Blow drying tricks
* start with a heat protector - I use one from Tressemme
1. Use your less dominant hand to hold the blow dryer! This will let you work the round brush easily  down the shaft of your hair

2. Hold it at the nozzle- this gives you more control over the dryer (about two or three inches away)

3. Clipping your hair in 3 sections actually SAVES you time. You’ll waste more time and energy tossing your head upside down in attempt to blow it all at once.

4. steady the dryer at the root aiming downwards for two seconds before you run the brush down the shaft. ( this will help because the roots take the longest to dry.)

DRUG STORE DIET
I don’t need manicures every month but I was paying $10 for a color change more often then I stopped for gas.
The product I swear by for an “at home color change.” is Revlons Calcium Gel Nail Hardener
I can be occasionally sloppy and my nails would end up streaky no matter how many coats. This product is a savior.
  • Use it as a base coat, because its gel it fills every nook&cranny.
  • Let it dry
  • Swipe your color three times. once on each side of the nail and once it the middle.  (I do it slowly and Sometimes this is enough)
  • For a second coat, Let them dry and application can be less precise your really just trying to build the color.
If you want to do a full at home mani. LMK!

Summer Gotta Have It's

OH BOY, A BLAZER! .. is a BEACH MUST HAVE.
I would love to pair this linen blazer with a fedora and these retro sunglasses I purchased from Forever 21 for just $5.80!!! I would wear it with my Black Bikini as a beach cover up.

I live in sunny Florida, I know its still freezing up North but that means you might be able to find a sweet inexpensive long blazer to rock when the weather warms up.
The blazer in this photograph is from  Ann Taylor Loft for $98. I’m sure you can find an inexpensive dupe!

HOW TO get beachy curls at home.

WANT THE REAL TRICK TO BEACHY HAIR?
WHAT YOU NEED
  1. a small spray bottle. (I bought the 8oz one below for $2 from a Sally’s Beauty)
  2. 1/4 a cup of Sea Salt (Can be purchased at your local grocery store).. If you have a bigger spray bottle use more Sea Salt.
  3. A little leave in Conditioner/ Conditioner if you don’t have
It almost seems silly that you never thought of this before.. Right?
WHAT YOU DO
  1. Fill the spray bottle with warm water (so the salt will disolve)
  2. Mix in the salt and the little bit of leave in conditioner
  3. For Dry Hair, spritz the mixture into your hair spray lightly at the roots once you get eye level completely saturate your hair and comb through. Go ahead and let it air dry while scrunching it or blow dry on low while twirling small pieces around your finger.
  4. For Wet Hair, EASY ! towel dry until damp saturate your hair with the mixture, scrunch, and twirl pieces while you blow dry
* Either way leave hair slightly damp, blow drying til its finished will ruin the look
*If you’re in a rush, spray into hair BRAID IT and watch out for waves that wow when you undo it later <3

OPI- “Mermaids Tears”
How beautiful and beachy?

Review: Laura Mercier

 Laura Mercier Creme Smooth Foundation.
I highly recommend this foundation for a flawless finish.
Laura Mercier’s Silk Creme Foundation has had a lot of great reviews but I think this product is seriously under rated. It has a hydrating formula and I’ve noticed it still has a smooth coverage when I’m in a rush and have to skip moisturizer and primer.
In the past Ive always used a brush to apply foundation but I love how this product reacts to the warmth of your finger tips. The result is truly phenomenal and you hardly need to use any product SO ithas a long life expectancy.

I don't have anything negative to say about this product, but you should know that it does have a satin-like finish before you apply a setting/ cover up powder.

My Score: 5/5

Brush 101: Stippling Brush

This brush is great to apply liquid foundations with a light/watery consistency (Like REVLON’s Photo Finish). You can use a large one like the sigma shown or a more dense smaller one.
  • dispense the liquid foundation onto the back of my hand
  • Swirl the white tips of the brush into it.
  • Then, I dab the product all over the face in a tapping motion
  • Afterward, I blend with small circular motions.
I prefer to use a large stippling brush to apply it to my face and the smaller one for blending. AND for foundations with a thicker consistency (like, L’Oreal Magic Smooth Souffle) I apply with my finger tips and blend with the small stippling brush.
